COMMITTEES

The MCA has established committees that work throughout the year to make our neighborhood that much better. Get Involved! We are always looking for Volunteers.

CRIME & SAFETY

CRIME & SAFETY COMMITTEE:
We look to our Crime & Safety Committee to keep the MCA informed of important issues impacting the safety of our neighborhood.  The committee works closely with SFPD and the SF Police Commissioners in order to be aware of crime hot spots, statistics, and new policies effecting the department.  The committee solicits feedback from our membership and serves as our neighborhood voice to SF officials.

NEIGHBORHOOD PLANNING

NEIGHBORHOOD  PLANNING COMMITTEE:
We look to the Neighborhood Planning Committee to keep the membership informed of important private and public works developments impacting our neighborhood.  The committee works closely with the San Francisco Planning Department, Department of Public Works, and other agencies.

TRANSPORTATION

TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE:
We look to the Transportation Committee to keep the membership informed of important traffic, parking, and other transit related issues impacting our neighborhood.  The committee works closely with SFMTA, MUNI, and other agencies to share our neighborhood's priorities and view for upcoming transportation projects and policies.

RECREATION & PARK

RECREATION & PARK COMMITTEE:
We look to the Park & Recreation Committee to keep the membership informed of important issues impacting our Parks, Recreation, Playgrounds, and public spaces in our neighborhood. The committee works closely with San Francisco Recreation & Park.

EVENTS

EVENTS COMMITTEE:
The Events Committee works to plan and execute events throughout the year for the benefit of our Community and MCA membership.  This includes the annual Marina Family Fest, guest speakers, and other creative events to bring our neighborhood together.  This committee is responsible for a budget when necessary to host events.

EDUCATION COMMITTEE:
We look to our Education Committee to keep the membership informed with the  happenings of the San Francisco Public School District, as well as with Private Schools in the Marina District.  This committee will partner with Parents, Students, Teachers, Administrators, and City Officials to help make our school system better.

MEMBERSHIP

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE:
We look to our Membership Committee to provide creative approaches to increase our membership and to be the conduit for membership feedback. The Membership Committee is responsible for coordinating membership recruitment, setting up events and activities to increase membership, following up with prospective members, and distributing membership applications and information as requested. The committee provides a monthly new member update and summary to the Board of Directors.

COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE:
The Communications Committee is responsible for developing, producing and distributing MCA information, including our online newsletter and all print & digital material.  The committee works with the MCA Board of Directors, Community Leaders, and other Committee Chairs to gather important information to keep our membership informed. The committee also has the responsibility of editing and publishing MCA content, and providing updates on MCA business and events to our members.

BY LAWS

BYLAWS COMMITTEE:
We look to the ByLaws Committee to keep our ByLaws up-to-date and accurate for the membership.  They will be a resource for the Board for interpretations or procedures and will work from time-to-time to modify the ByLaws as needed.
