Heather Knight is a columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle working out of City Hall and covering everything from politics to homelessness to family flight and the quirks of living in one of the most fascinating cities in the world. Knight’s awards include first place for column writing from Best of the West in 2018; best education story in the state in 2015 from the California Newspaper Association; the 2015 John Swett Award from the California Teachers Association; the John Swett Award in 2005; and numerous awards from the Peninsula Press Club.
